In my experience you can run the chain very loose. But too loose starts to affect the timing in a bad way.

One thought not yet mentioned in this thread: Get a better spark plug boot. One of our sponsors sells them. A forum search should yield the specifics for you. I installed one and it stopped an occasional stalling problem that was starting to develop.

I think so, but I know that the rear mounting bracket for the belly fairing is different, so you would have to get the bracket as well as the bodywork.

Maybe a bad injector, but it sounds like you may have a vacuum leak. Make sure the throttle body is properly fitted into the rubber boot on the cylinder head, that the clamp is properly tightened, and that there are no cracks or tears in the boot and no disconnected hoses anywhere.

For a new rider just getting your permit, I would advise strongly against bar-end mirrors.
