Anyone know if KTM is still having issues with warped heads?
I have paid much attention to this since 2017 or 2018, just want to be prepared.
Thanks,
Mike
I have a 2017 RC390 I have a race tech shock and race tech cartridges in the forks.
Anyone know if I can swap suspensions between a 2017 and a 2022?
I would also like to know what else may be swappable I have some other race/track bits on my 2017, it would be nice not to have to re-purchase...
Kill switch appears to be connected correctly.
Like you said in the other post, the connections are mostly unique, so kind of hard to mess it up.
Functioning correctly is a question I can't answer.
I'm not bad at taking stuff apart and putting it back together, but testing electrics is a bit...
Thanks Reid, that should be helpful.
It looks like you are running an ignition delete?
If so would you take a pic of that bundle hooking up?
If not would you mind taking a photo of where the ignition wires and the wires coming from the starter and kill switches hook up?
I appreciate it, and like...
As you may have read in a previous thread I installed a 2016 woodcraft ignition delete on my 2017 RC and burned up the ecu and wiring harness,
I purchased a used ecu and wiring harness from a wrecked bike and installed it.
I think I have everything connected correctly, but who knows, it's not...
I'm hoping someone out there has their fairings off or even better the engine out of the frame and would be willing to take a bunch of pictures of the wiring harness routing and connections, and either post or send them to me?
I had to replace mine and I'm having some issues.
I took photos, but...
Yes get your head checked and machined flat if needed, generally it's not too expensive to have it done and apparently most of them are warped, mine was.
I had mine done at a local speed shop that mostly does Harleys, I don't remember the price, but I'm pretty sure it was under $100 and I had it...
There are several posts about this, you may want to search if you haven't already.
Anyway:
The oil pressure sensor seems to be kind of sensitive, make sure:
You check the oil level using the instructions in the manual, and make sure it's fully up to temp.
Make sure you have the correct weight...
2017 KTM RC390 RC 390 Engine Motor LOW MILE - Used Motorcycle Parts
They have a lot of other parts as well.
I've bought a few things, customer service is good, although I think you have to message them through face book, they respond faily quickly.
I don't have any complaints about dealing with...
Is this all street riding or track?
I only ride mine on track and I go thru coolant pretty quick. I'm pretty sure it's coming out of the over flow at lean.
It's always gone through lot of coolant after over a year of at least two weekends a month on track.
No over heating, I've never noticed...
I'll second ReidMcT on making sure you check the level correctly, I'd add you may want to ride it around the block or track to bring it up to temp.
This has happened to me once.
When I changed the oil I used Motul oil instead of Motorex, but correct weight, and an after market filter.
