Look up the power rating of the stator. Look up (or read) the power requirements of the bulbs. If the power of the two bulbs exceed the rating of the stator then you'll know that you are exceeding the design of the system. Much in the same way that going to LEDs would lower the power needs it...

The system really isn't designed to carry that much load. They can do it with the LEDs because they don't require as much power.
