2022 RC390 Discussion

I had a couple of great years tracking my nicely modded 2015 RC390.
Missing that bike I wanted another smaller bike to complement my bigger track bikes.
I also was first not impressed with the initial photos I saw if the 2022 KTM RC390, but since watching many ride/track videos I have seen how much effort KTM put into this generation and clearly focused on making it a better track bike than before.
I also love the idea of the SuperSport prototype. So I hope this leads into a factory track kit.
I just put in my deposit and looking forward to getting it.

Still going back and forth on the 390 vs the 400, thought I landed on the 400 but the 22 makes that decision harder. Planning to race it so it looks like getting the 390 to full race spec will be cheaper than getting a Ninja to full race spec.

A ZX-4R would get my rapt attention. Still can't get my eyeballs around the new RC. Of course my dealer can't promise they can get their hands one one either.

I'm really considering the 22 RC390 as a track/race bike. At $5799 it's $500 more than an R3, but with adjustable suspension, electronics, etc. the RC seems to be a much better deal.

ZXR25R here in New Zealand is/was $16k (about 2x the price of the RC). The 400 would be very close to the cost of a 600. Even if they go ahead and make it I can't see many if any cross shopping between an RC and a ZXR.

I will freely admit that I don't know, but it would depend on the forks and the axle. The odds probably aren't good.

On a separate note, the lean angle in some of the "official" pics looks preposterous. Anybody else think so?
I'm not so sure - stick some slicks on and those angles are achievable (not by me I hasten to add)...

Okay, the USA KTM website lists 2022 as 155 kg dry, and 2019 as 147 kg dry, so ... did it really gain 18 lbs + another 6 for the extra gallon of gas?

Another example of creative advertising. Granted, the new model has lighter wheels (- 8LBS) which is really nice, given its rotating, unsprung mass, but the entire bike has gained 18 lbs in spite of this. I'd rather just buy some BST CF wheels for my 2017 RC, lose 14 lbs rotating unsprung mass, and end up with a bike that's 32 lbs lighter than the stock 2022 model.

I just picked up my 22 on Saturday....I'm no racer or enthusiast. Just wanted a cool commuter bike that would save me some money on gas. For the price I couldn't pass up the KTM. I come from the MX world and have always been a KTM fan there too. :)

Tried ordering a Booster Plug but Euro 5 bikes has them delayed. I’ll look for a power commander next.
Booster Plug is just marketing nonsense. Show me ONE dyno pull where the only change was a boost plug and the bike made more power and I'll eat my hat, but those things are utter garbage. $0.02.

Do you know where I can find (who produce) laminat body Racing kits for rc390 2022 ?
Please paste links. Bike Is only for track days for me, I don’t want to damage original plastics.

Does anyone know which windscreen fits into Sebimoto fairings for RC390 2022?

Some links are more than welcome.
Thanks

The MRA windscreens developed for the 2022 RC390 should be available through Kramer or the Gray Area site. They are the same windscreens that run on the EVO2 from what I understand.
