    2018 RC390 Stalling (Yes, I know it's a common issue and I've searched)

Yeah I was going to say put in a new spark plug for similar reasons. Temperature related stalling is almost certainly mapping - a lean condition in the case of heat. If you mix that with bad spark, then there you go. Could be the EGR or some other sensor as well. Remember, these are cheap...

    Upgraded injector

Once you start making modifications that improve airflow - exhaust and airbox for example - the bike will run lean. What people have said is the stock injector is not capable of providing enough flow. So I have the 3/4 Yoshimura exhaust, a K&N air filter, and I removed the snorkel. The bike was...

    2020 RC390 suspension troubles

I didn't watch my friend try to install it so I can't say for sure. He said the airbox was in the way, which is why I suspect that the KT303 isn't compatible with the 2020 bike. But I need to check that again from Ohlins. Anyway, the Duke shock works, the reservoir goes in the more common...

    2020 RC390 suspension troubles

The cartridges came in a box that said 390 Duke, and they are installed and functioning. I think it's entirely possible that KTM is putting Duke forks on the late 2020 bikes.

Loud knocking sound in engine only 5,300kms

I missed this. I would have guessed a bearing but piston slap is pretty common. The bottom line here is you know how your bike sounded at one time and if it changes you need to figure out why. A friend of mine had a big end bearing go on his Ducati with 9000 miles on it. It happens. The real...

    Upgraded injector

Never mind. They were having a problem with their shipping quotes. I ordered 2.

    2021?

Yeap could be good. But we've been looking at these pictures for like 2 years now. Hopefully it happens this time.

    Upgraded injector

I see the upgraded injector from Gray Area KTM. I would like to buy it from them, but the shipping cost seems way too high. $26 for a small part is too much. Are these available anywhere else?

    2021?

Well here we are in 2021 and there's still no such thing as a 2021 KTM RC390. What I want: Lighter wheels. Even as little as 5 pounds per wheel less would make a real difference! Please. Adjustable suspension. Close ratio transmission. With a shorter shift throw. I'd settle for either one...

    2018 RC390 Stalling (Yes, I know it's a common issue and I've searched)

(Reviving this) Ok, I have my own story here but I want to clarify something: Stalling at low engine speeds is totally different than stalling due to an electrical problem (such as sidestand sensor or spark plug wire). They really don't even belong in the same thread. Decide which problem you...

    Finally pulled the trigger

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1T42Kjs53Xbad4d_krrIw5OPAEve9NntuLEwNRPkrnOY/ This tells you about gearing. Done by Formula390, buy parts there if you get a chance. I went up 1 in the front and down 1 in the rear so I didn't have to break the chain. This is pretty tall but makes it much...

    2020 RC390 suspension troubles

Ok, finally got the Andreani cartridges on the bike. I believe my forks are the non through rod ones which might be the same as the Duke? The box for the cartridges said 390 Duke on it. I think the damping is not ideal but I only rode it around the neighborhood. It might have air in it or...

    Finally pulled the trigger

It's almost certainly not sprung for you. I've ridden that bike (it's in my profile pic) and it's way better than a normal one but undersprung. I'm 220. My local Ohlins guys said they were wary of WP because they don't have much info on them. You might find the same thing. Hopefully you can find...

    Valve Adjustment

Yes. Math vs. reality. My intakes were right at the .08mm lower limit. I put in a shim that was .05mm smaller by math, and by the tolerance of my measurement tool, but in reality my clearance now measures .13 and .14, slightly above the .12 upper limit. The other problem is the factory shims...

    Valve Adjustment

Yeah good point. I think it's still too hard to adjust to the range though. Mine are out of spec now where they were in spec before the adjustment, although on the limit.

    Valve Adjustment

So it's worse than that, the intake range is .08-.12 mm. The exhaust is .13-.17mm. That's .04mm. The shim increments are .05. What a crock. Anyways I did the clearances. I would have had the intake cam off by 1 tooth if I didn't mark the cam against the "bearing bridge" with a sharpie before I...

    Valve Adjustment

I haven't put it all back together again. I'm stewing on it. If I make all the tolerances on the loose end I can ride without worries for thousands of more miles... Still waiting for my forks to come back so I'm not missing any riding time.

    Valve Adjustment

Ok. I have about 800 miles on my bike, maybe 300-350 on the track. TIme to check the valves for the first time. It is worse than my 996, 998, air cooled Multistrada and any other Ducati I've worked on. That said, I haven't worked on the newest ones. I haven't read this entire thread but I got...

    2020 RC390 suspension troubles

I did not check that. That's a cool feature. OK, my dealer ordered Andreani internals based on my bike being a 2020, and the parts are wrong. So I believe the forks on my late 2020 bike are not the same as 2019 or possibly earlier 2020. I don't know if they are the same as an earlier type, or...
