Engine stalling / loss of power whilst riding

No harm in checking if there is a crack in the Airbox. I had all sorts of similar weird problems and ended up changing loads of bits. Ultimately it turned out to a fine crack in the Airbox which was not easy to spot. A bit of sealant and the bike was as new.

    Weird idle issue

Check your throttle cable routing. Maybe it’s stretching the butterfly valve open. I had a similar idle issue but that turned out to be a tiny crack in the air box which for me turned out notoriously difficult to find and repair. I replaced the IACV, lambda and ignition coil in vain before I...

Battery Door Fix Battery Door Latch Fix - Should resolve the problem.

The cover just won't latch now after all these years. My solution: Have removed the small Allen head bolts (think they are M6) which hold the latch mechanism against the metal tab on the tank, put some double sided tape to hold the latching mechanism against the bottom of the metal tab on the...

I took the side cowlings off, now the bastard won't start.

Check the battery. If it's old they often let go without any warning. The lights etc will come on but there is isn't enough juice to turn the engine over.

    Lowering kit rc390

I fully sympathise with you as I am vertically challenged too. I have always preferred sports bikes and they are always tall for me but I try to get around them with a few tricks - decreasing the rear shock preload, dropping the front forks a bit to match, thinning the seat and wearing good...

    Idle Issues

I have exactly the same problem. As it showed a faulty lambda code (low voltage) I replaced the lambda sensor but now the check light is coming on intermittently (at idle) saying there a fault with the sensor again (1 long, 7 short flashes). On riding it goes off but am getting issue with the...

    Random Nut!

Could be one the ones which hold the battery tray onto the chassis. Remove the battery. There are two such nuts at the back on each side.

    Front sprocket change to 14T

Thank you for the helpful advice. I use the bike about once a week for spirited Sunday rides and lucky if I can hit 65mph as it's city riding. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on the chain and slider.

    Front sprocket change to 14T

Most of my riding is done in Hyderabad which is very busy traffic wise. My RC is only for fun riding and not a daily bike. Given our stop and go traffic top speed is the least of my priorities and nice traction off signal lights and pickup is what I personally need the most. After a bit of...

Anyone willing to risk small bucks on these cheap chinese Rearsets?

Recently bought a set of rearsets from China on eBay whilst I was in UK for about £100 Fitting was a little fiddly but not too bad as the rear of the bike has to be supported while the rear axle bolt is removed. Am really impressed with the feel and quality of these whilst riding. Here are some...

    Quick throttle DIY

Found a 3d file on thingiverse for a quick throttle cam for a YZF R6 RJ03 by mastein93 (https://www.thingiverse.com/mastein93) and printed it off in ABS. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2800913 It fits the RC 390 perfectly except needing just a little bit of fettling on the bottom half of...

Anyone willing to risk small bucks on these cheap chinese Rearsets?

Hi Am thinking if ordering a set for my RC. Am undecided between black and titanium (don't personally prefer the orange) Any one have pics of the rearsets on the bike in the titanium color. Want to see how they match up against the rest of the bike ie against the black and orange already on...
