25,000mi on my 2016 rc390. The bracket that hangs the bodywork from the bottom of the stock exhaust has been rusted and the bolts have been loose for a while. I am unable to tighten one bolt because what I assume to be the nut inside of the exhaust has broken loose and so it has nothing to fasten to. Worse, the other bolt has straight up just disappeared completely.
This is a problem because now there is a big hole in the exhaust emitting heat and melting the plastic.
What are my solutions here? Is there a cost effective way to weld/patch the metal at this spot? I hesitate to buy a replacement OEM exhaust if the design is poor in the first place, and the bolts are susceptible to loosening again. Alternatively, can anyone recommend an affordable, good sounding full exhaust replacement? I have a Werkes on an fj09 that i am in love with, but curious what forum users think are good options.
