In Europe, at least, we changed from EURO3 to EURO4 regulation, and this impact the way the diagnostic of components is done.
In Euro 3 we detect only if there is a short circuit to GND or Battery, or disconnection.
On EURO4, for emission sensitive components, the diagnostic is more complex and could detect that the component does not operate as it should, even correctly connected.
So if your bile is 2015/2016, you can simply check the injector connector, to be sure to water went inside (the rubber sheet on the engine protects quite well in case of heavy rain. I hope you did not remove it.
If your bike is more recent it could be more tricky. Do you still have the problem now, or this happened just once?
