Front Axle Bolt

Hi all,
installed axle sliders at the front fork left side and therefore hat to replace the original bolt.
question: what is the purpose of the original bolt? The one that came with the sliders is 1cm shorter and I am afraid I’m gonna lose my wheel or so while driving? Is that nonsense or is it a valid thread if the bolt is a cm too short??
thanks for quick reply

1 CM of thread engagement is a pretty big deal. I would consider getting one that is the correct length for your application. If you have a digital caliper you can use to determine the bolt length you need. If just shotgun a few lengths that look close and try them out lol

I just replaced the bolt with one that is 6mm longer to ~~~~~ close the gap. Hope this works now but ofc I’m not sure this is why I am going to throw the China stuff away and get the proper KtM deal
