I think you guys are the authority on this topic but I’ve been out of the 390 game awhile. I got out in time but had doubts my 15 RC would go the typical 25,000 I like to use a new bike despite a sweet Chad tune and measures to keep it cool, in street sport riding.
Anyway, my son called me yesterday from NYC, a buddy has a 400 miles old 17 Duke 390 and is building excess pressure and horribly boiling over and in our 1100 miles away diagnosis I’m thinking head gasket.
Good timing as Im tempted by a 400 miles old nicely modded 15 RC again but...
I recall an insane percentage of head studs were bad during rebuilds by Chad. So my question, blown head gaskets on the 15/16 models, 1 in 5? 1 in 10? 1 in a hundred? 3 in 5?
