Ohlins FKS507

Has anyone installed the ohlins fork cartridges in their 2017+ rc390?

I was in the midst of getting mine installed and they don’t fit.
Ohlins states fitment to be 18-19 bikes, I assumed (being a 2017 model) that I bought the wrong part. But I checked the parts fiche with a local Ktm dealer here in Australia and the 2017-2019 run the same part numbers for forks.

Ohlins describes a “base bolt” fork model. Does anyone have pictures or part numbers of said fork?

Yeah I’ve seen that.

But that’s what I’m saying, according to the KTM parts fiche, the 2017-2019 all run the same fork lowers. I had a look at a 12/18 RC390 and couldn’t see a bolt access hole either.

I entered my VIN number into the KTM parts finder and got these results compared to a 2019 model.

It’s showing that I have the same forks as per the 2019 model but the ohlins kit doesn’t fit as the forks do not have the “base bolt”.

This was a 12/18 RC390 (same part number as mine & 2019 year model.

Has anyone ever heard of an RC390 with the base bolt version of the standard forks?

The only ones that make some sense would be the cup bike forks /390R forks but ohlins doesn’t explicitly state that.

Hi everyone,

Ended up machining the fork lugs to get a bolt through.

Everything works as it should.

I am about to machine my 2020...none of the RCs here (2017-2020) have bolt holes. Could you tell me what direction the threads are at the bottom of the fork tubes are (to separate the tube from the base), as well as what is needed to do the drilling please.
