RC390 Cup Bike info

So We have some info on the Cup Bike. We spoke to someone in a support role for the Cup Series here in the US.

The cup bikes will be assembled in Austria late February / early March (our understanding the street RC390 is to be stripped of some street bits and reassembled with Cup bits), after which they will be shipped to the US. The Cup bikes should be available at dealers some time mid-April. There may be a small spares kit included with sprockets and a few other bits. No word on a slipper clutch.

To be eligible to buy a Cup bike we will need to be (or support) a licensed racer aged 14-22 with a proven track record.

HMC Racing (they race an RC8 in the Superbike class) will have spare parts available for purchase at each event. Loaner engines will be available at the track in case of issues (loaner engines to be returned at end of weekend). Engine rebuilds will be available between race events.

Allowable mods to the bike will include tires, brake pads, and suspension settings (3 different rate springs for front and rear). Obviously no engine mods of any kind will be allowed.

The bikes will come with a full set of sponsor decals and a small area for our own decal set. Not sure what if anything these sponsors will provide.

Here are the race dates:
1 May 29-31 Road America – Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin
2 June 12-14 Barber Motorsports Park – Birmingham, Alabama
3 June 26-28 Miller Motorsports Park – Tooele, Utah
4 July 17-19 Laguna Seca – Monterey, California (WSBK Support Race)
5 Sept 11-13 New Jersey Motorsports Park – Millville, New Jersey

Only 3 more months!!
