I drilled diagonally and got a good hole then patched the original straight hole that I drilled.

Thanks for clarifying. I'll be doing some safety wire drilling tomorrow.

Yeah just be careful with all the oil drain bolts. I swapped my oil filter cap over to allens because they were easier drill and won't have the heads spin off.

dang looks like this isn't being sold anymore on ebay and can't find anything similar. anyone else have an aftermarket drain plug option?

Did the same thing, used jb weld, been running since, but I have a spare ready.

Have 2 of these came pretty quick.

also, i was wondering if anyone has had trouble drilling out the secondary drain bolt that is attached to the secondary/smaller oil screen? I used all sorts of materials for the drill bolt (titanium, cobalt, etc) and nothing seems to bedrilling through it. i've attached a picture here. any feedback is appreciated. TIA!

Nope. Slow and steady on a drill press. Add some wd40 as lube. If it's not drilling any more, is it possible the tip of the bit snapped in there?
