Should I open the airbox?

I have my 2020 RC390 w 1K miles on it. I'm amateur and use it for Florida Track Days. It is Stock and Has Power Commander V installed with Stock Exhaust, Stock intake map to compensate or correct the lean factory behavior. Should I open the Airbox lid to get better performance? I saw a video on YouTube of a guy just cutting the top of the AirBox.

Helps a lot when you also can adjust the fueling accordingly. That snorkel what factory places is nothing less thatn redicoluos. Originally though it might help prevent sucking in water on wet race but actually does appear to get less water in widouth the lid than with it.
