Hey guys, have a 2018 rc390 with about 8600 miles on it. I'm the second owner, its pretty much had the check engine light on since i purchased it(from auction sight unseen) however its mostly all there and in good shape for a crashed bike. No leaks, no mods, super clean air filter, clean oil(when i purchased) and it was a commuter since the bike had massive flat spots. Previous owner laid it down not overly hard on the right side.
So ran the code and got a P010800 MAP sensor, DUH! starting disassembling to replace with a new bosch, got lazy and sprayed some throttle body cleaner and the engine light went off, however the bike still runs a little rough and then cuts out every so often on sudden or sharp throttle twists, intermittently. Here's a crappy Youtube video i uploaded, unfortunately wasn't able to predict when it would stall and never did.
Would you say given the rougher idle and quick stalling its probably a bad MAP sensor or something else? Maybe needs a new spark plug.
My plan is commute and bring it to the track as a B-Bike for the end of the day 'I'm tired but still want to ride and not kill myself' bike(for the track guys out there). Can't afford to risk some random stalling in public or the track, having previous ridden this a bit on the road it had the same issue, and was predictable but not worth the headache using it often. Thanks for any input.
