Need Help Speedometer malfunctioning - why?

Hi all,

happened a couple of times now after like 50m of riding that for 3-5s e.g. at 80kmh it only Shows 30 or 40… and then quickly gets back up to the real speed.
What can that be caused by? Assumed low battery but on the other hand - once I’m like 50m into my ride the battery should be fully charged shouldn’t it be?
What else can it be? I’m nervous… abs sensor..? Not sure.. happens on a straight road with no bumps

I have been dealing with a similar issue for years now, checked the speedo pick-up which is a sealed unit at the front wheel which seems okay, checked the wiring and connector which seem okay and checked the negative which is okay so I presume it is an electronic issue in either the dash unit or ECU.
Mine displays speed okay till about 40 km/h and then falls away completely at times just to come back for a few seconds displaying the actual speed.
If you find a solution please share, I've been riding like this for over 3 years.
This is on my 2012 Duke 200 (no ABS).
