All the way from New Zealand

Hey Mike, I'm from Wellington too, nice to see someone else from the area on here. Might see you up at Manfeild once we're in warmer weather! Hamish

The Big Fuel Range Thread, or...

Isn't the speedo drive on the front wheel of the RC, so a change in the gearing shouldn't affect the speedo?

Haha, like I said, I was taking it VERY easy

The Big Fuel Range Thread, or...

I usually hit the low fuel warning light at around 190-200km, and then I make sure I get fuel within about 60km on the low fuel tripmeter. I'm sure I've gone further than that (around 280-290km on a tank), but that was when I was running the bike in, and very new to motorcycling, so I was taking...

Who LOVES their RC390, and why?

I got my RC after my first bike (Duke 200) got stolen after a month, and I decided I was confident enough for a sportier bike. I'll admit I bought it because I thought it looked cool and "felt" the sportiest after also testing a Ninja 300 and an R3 (the DR-Z400SM I also tested felt great, but...

    Rc 390 2017

If you look on the KTM website, it appears the new graphics, adjustable levers, new exhaust/bellypan, 320mm front brake and slipper clutch are coming on the 2017 model. My guess is changes are being introduced for the new SSP300 championship

Lane Splitting.... yes or no ?

I found this an interesting read the other day: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/tripping/wp/2016/06/30/california-motorcyclists-look-crazy-splitting-lanes-maybe-we-should-follow-their-lead/ The article says research conducted by the California Office of Traffic Safety suggests so long as...

    Hello from New Zealand

Hey LinkNZ! I'm from Wellington. The RC is my second bike - my Duke 200 was stolen after less than a month  Good excuse to upgrade to the RC390 though! I've been riding it about 9 months/9,000km, and looking forward to getting to another track day once the weather warms up!

    Rider size??

I'm 5'7" and can't get both feet flat when stationary, but that doesn't cause me any problems (unless I lose my balance at low speed)

    Bent Brake Lever

I dropped my RC a few times on the right hand side while at low speed/stopped after losing my balance (I'm a newbie and short, so when it starts going over, it's hard for me to stop it!), and found the brake lever very easy to replace; it bent or snapped each time. However, getting the KTM brake...

    390 fuel gauge reserve

I used to reset the trip meter after filling up, then make sure to fill up between 250-300kms. Then I figured I could get away with filling up around 50kms on Trip "F". Of course, one pay day I ran out of gas a block from the petrol station and my pay hadn't gone through yet  The 45 minute...

    Let's see your RC

Attended my first track day last weekend! What a blast!! Second pic is of me going around the outside of a GSX1000S... who promptly flew back past on the short straight following :) I haven't done any mods to my bike yet, and hope to improve my riding (a lot) more before spending too much on...

How many miles + problems thread

Yeah, the more I've thought about it the more it seems unlikely. But I remember now that it originally occurred the day after I rode it in heavy rain for the first and basically only time - I got caught out by changing weather. When I turned it on and it was dead the first time there was what...
