I remember seeing that same wire hanging out. Start with checking the basics like fuses, etc. and then move to the wiring with a voltmeter. I had an issue when I installed my tail tidy where the license plate light wouldn't illuminate but that was due to a poor connection. I didn't think you...
That's really weird that they're thrown on the Duke forks this late in the game (specially with no warning or documentation) when supposedly the next gen is right around the corner.
Care to elaborate on this? I tried to do my research before buying a shock and didn't run across any comments saying the Ohlins shock was dangerous. I did look into K-tech but they use a smaller body and smaller diameter coil shock which might work well for track duty and light riders but not...
Ok thanks for the great info. The shims must be designed to wear different on car engines since anytime I've checked and adjusted clearances I've aimed for the mid range and end up using a mix of old and new shims
Wouldn't you want clearances in the tighter side to mid point instead of the loose side? Shims wear so the tolerances will loosen up from doing stuff like this on car engines but have never done it for a bike.
Just to close the loop on my own thread, I finally got a Vortex headlift stand after being on backorder seemingly forever. I can confirm it does indeed fit the '20 RC with stock bodywork with no problem. There is one rivet/bolt underneath the headlight that contacts the stand but it only...
Any updates on this, were you able to find out what the deal is with the forks and if there is a 2020 v1 vs V2, etc? Where you able to get the shock to fit? Even with a different airbox, that shouldn't have interfered with fitting the shock on the eyelet IMO. Fitting the reservoir is another...
So is there such a thing as a 2020.5 model, and if so what are the changes? I didn't think has changed considering the RC is due for a total model change
Are we talking about the KT303 shock? My '20 is all stock and I had no problem with the reservoir hose or any part of the shock contacting any part of the bike or bodywork. If the shock came with the hose oriented the wrong way, that would be a major error from Ohlins or whoever he bought the...
It's on another thread, basically you have to find a way to put and tighten the screws for the frame bracket. This has nothing to do with the shock itself fitting on the bike though, that was a breeze one you got the fender out of the way.
I put an ohlins shock on my '20, no problems at all with the exception fitting the reservoir. The actual shock goes in no problem once you've loosened the rear fender.
Are you checking the oil with the bike in the correct position (i.e. not on the side stand)? I'd go ahead and change the oil regardless since you don't really know how the bike was maintained.
