MotoGP Points Winner - Thoughts on Lorenzo's final comments ?

I first became a Lorenzo fan after his excellent controlled race at Valencia - was it 2013? I remembered how Lorenzo was hoping his teammate - Rossi - will put some pressure on MM, and I thought JLo rode a masterful race in slowing down the pace. In the end, Rossi & others could't overtake MM...

No integrated turn signal mirrors for US bikes???

Yup, same here. I do the chicken flap dance quite often especially when I approach stop lights. Only way to see through those damn excuse of devices called mirrors. FWIW, the R3 forum is also littered with the same complaints. They're as hopeless as having your a$$h0le on yer .....

Seat Height coupled with a Short Rider

I'm 5'6" and with a short inseam. My previous bike, RSV1000R, had an 810mm seat height. This RC390 has an 820mm height. Yet, the Aprilia felt taller because the KTM has a narrower seat and softer suspension. And much less weight at that. The rear suspension setup on my RC390 is still on the...

    MotoGP 2015

Well, MM really blew his title chances with his do or die attitude yesterday. On one hand, it makes small sense that he has to take some chances in order to win. But what he did yesterday was real recklessness; completely misjudged his braking point on a bike that he had consistently...

    Ontario

Hello and welcome to this forum I had to take a *deep* breath after I read your post, and thought a little about how to address some of your topics... First off, congrats on taking up motorcycling. With proper preparation, thought, planning and practice, you can have plenty of years of...

    Riders age?

Give it time I suppose. Maybe next year the Moped army will be a-swarmin all over this thing, if the supply meets general demand. For now, this year, seems to me that GenX'ers are the ones willing to fork out that little bit of extra cash to own one. And a few Baby boomers too..

    Mileage (as in mpg/kmpl)

From now, I'll keep a keen eye whenever the tank gets to one-third. The fuel tank gauge doesn't regress evenly; the drop is drastic after about half-full.

    Slipper clutch?

Good to hear that, from a racer's/tracking perspective. I've always matched-rev when downshifting anyway, be it four or two wheels I'm driving. That being said, during upshifts from first to second, my bike sometimes misses 2nd gear. It's the only real annoyance I've encountered thus far on...

    West PA Update

Haha, you're quite right Seth! I told myself that if my dealer hadn't call me by Memorial weekend, I was gonna pass it by. And they did - the Thursday before Memorial. All that's in the past now

    Mileage (as in mpg/kmpl)

I'd say 60mpg sounds about right, for normal commuting. This afternoon I had originally intended to take the bike for a short spin, but ended up doing 2 hrs on her :) Started with a near full tank, minus one bar. I had 60 miles on my odometer. At around 100~120 miles, my instrument panel...

    West PA Update

You must be referring to Scoot Powersports, near Eurosports, also in Coopersburg. That's odd, because I purchased my bike from DHY in Deptford, NJ. They've only been a KTM dealer for 6 months, and they had received one RC390 (mine) and two Duke 390's. Well, hope you get yours real soon. I know...

    Riders age?

I'm a couple of months shy of that silver anniversary. I've owned and ridden mostly smallish bikes: started on a moped at 16, then to an X7, possibly one of my favourite bikes (other markets it's called RG250), CB500, Ninja 250, Aprilia RS50, RSV1000R...and now the 390.

Motorcycle USA head to head small bike review

I had the opportunity to have a very close look at the R3. I "considered" buying it in lieu of the RC, but truthfully, it never amounted to any serious decision on my part. Just used it as a reference to justify my long-ago made decision to purchase to KTM. The R3 looked and felt significantly...
