So how long before you have a turning package ready for market? :)
I have a PVC but not a huge fan of the piggy back. Would be nice to have full control just through the stock ECU.
I had no issues with the crank nut taking the prescribed torque. Did not do the clutch hub, it was not a known issue at the time. Make sure the threads are dry save for the thread locker for proper torque.
I have cut the knobs off the stock triple to run Renthal Clipons. I had to add length to the steering stops to keep the controls off the tank. No clearance issues with the cables or levers. They are easily 1.5" lower than stock.
Must include a dozen smoke breaks, a long lunch, and a nap.
First time I did mine was 3 hours. Taking my time to remove and inspect various aspects of how the bike was built. I even put the rubber bib back.
Fairly sure these are 6061-T6. Not going to get much better than that in aluminum unless you go to 7075 or 2024 but now you are into real aircraft materials.
Still 6061 is far better than the crappy cast aluminum the bike comes with.
I have not had problems with the kickstand bolts on these...
Yup, there is a hidden button on the cluster you can hold before you start the bike that will turn off ABS.
For a street bike I have not found a compelling reason to remove the ABS. Properly bled you can get a nice firm lever if your rotor is not bent.
