Confirmed here as well...have heard it numerous times. First time I heard it I swore it was some sort of electrical 'beeping' issue but as I got close to tank I figured out it was coming from fuel port and discovered it was just relieving pressure.
It definately won't 'hurt' your bike...the dealer flash would typically provide MORE fuel to the mix which would make it run richer than the stock 'lean' condition. Although an overly rich condition can be bad (unburned fuel into oil, poor economy, throttle response), the amount a dealer flash...
Here is a great site I have referenced for my Harley over the years....obviously a different bike but Fuel Injection is Fuel Injection. As stated above, when someone says 'flash' it's just overwriting the 'fuel map' that is in your ECU. Most bikes come stock with a 'lean' flash due to EPA...
As with any oil leak step 1 is to really search and find the source. Seeing where it ends up does not help. This can be time consuming and may take a few iterations of totally cleaning where oil appears then going for a short ride to see if you can find fresh oil at the source.
Yes it went pretty fast...I used Craigslist and Cycletrader but most hits came from Craigslist. I can tell you that in New England area there is lots of interest in these bikes even though we have not seen ONE on the street since purchased in Aug. There are a few in dealer show rooms but I...
SOLD...$4500. Now there's an empty spot on the garage and my kid is depressed as hell but it will soon be filled with a new 2015 Yamaha R6. I'm thinking that will help!
Overall, the RC390 was a great bike for him to learn on and I would recommend it for any new rider. He rode the hell out of...
I would agree with cjwell....any 'locknut' arrangement I have ever seen places TWO nuts against each other. The object is to torque each nut against the other which will prevent them from backing off.
STILL AVAILABLE...
It's been 2 weeks since RC390 was put up for sale on local craigslist & cycletrader...quite a bit of interest (mostly trackers). Will have title in hand within 2 weeks. Have offers over $4K but no sale yet...holding out a bit longer before letting it go to highest offer. Did...
I'm sure KTM/India are very capable in learning and improving but...based on many of our experiences with the RC390 so far, KTM appears to have room for improvement in QC at their India facilities. Only time will tell....
Those of us who are old enough can remember back when 'made in Japan'...
Think those are just 'rubber-bands' to be used to wrap around tool kit...I definitely would question if they have anything to do with 'spares' for engine.
Here is listing for 'lubrication system' from KTM Service Manual.
If replacing O-rings for strainers and oil filter you need items 11, 13...
Good luck man...the aggravation and frustrations involved with pursuing lemon laws and suits never jump out to me as a great option. Spending lots of time and effort dealing with that BS when I could be riding and smiling is not what I am looking for. Following repairs, if I had limited...
Good to hear things will be done under warranty but I feel your pain with all the BS you are dealing with. Recently dealt with blown head gasket issue (bike was only 3 months old) and got the same sort of run-around with my dealer. 'Well...we need to take pictures and send to KTM warranty guy'...
