are there any other ways to get RPM signal? Apart from the wire coil on the spark plug cable technique. Is there any other terminal/wire that I can tap..?

So.. one of them puts out 12v square waves (supposedly) and the other is ground?

Thank you for lighting fast replies. A dumb question.. When you say ignition wires, which specific wire are you talking about? the Positive/negative wire on the ignition coil? You must not be talking about the spark plug cable right? coz that pulses above 20k volts.

Did you test it? I'm trying to make a sequential shift light for my Ktm rc 200. I'm looking for an rpm signal source too. Please help me out brother! @Fasteddy said there's a black wire connecting the console and ECU at pin 8 and 2 respectively. Please try it if you can and post the results here

Is there any other way to pick up rpm signal on a ktm (in my case an RC 200)? What kind of signal is given out from the negative terminal of the ignition coil? is it also a 12v pulsating signal? I've seen some people using that terminal to hook up an external tachometer in various cars. Please...
