@thorolda what part of the headlight brakcket/mount? I'm selling the entire headlight assembly, are you looking for the thing that also holds the dash?
Fun times, I'm having this problem now and can confirm 100% confidence that it did not follow an overheating event. As in, the bike has been sitting in the garage for 4 months, and I start it once a month just to keep things moving. Go to start it this past weekend and it give the "Coolant Over...
They let you do that?? I got a thorough lecture from one of their tech guys a while back when I had overflow just going to the bellypan and had to improvise a CVS solution
For AFM rules, I just bought a plastic small nalgene bottle and mounted it up near the steering head just under the fairing and where the forks don't hit on the left side. Will try to get photos when I get home.
Drop it off with a dealer... see if they'll even ask to repair if its only 19 days past warranty due to low mileage. Worst they can say is no... but KTM has been making some exceptions on accepting warranty claims for things that should be disqualified, like my race bike and Ari's race bike
Yeah something like that... but I'd bet that's fairly normal for warranty stuff. At this point since I'm on work travel I can't play with the bike anyway, so it works out.
Odd... It may have something to do with the relationship between the dealer and KTM as well.
My race bike popped its head gasket at 267 miles on the odometer and they're repairing it, along with quite a few other things under warranty. Maybe I'm just lucky.
Quick update:
Talked to the dealer after they finished the teardown inspection. Here's what they gotta replace:
- Head (!)
- Both cams, apparently they started to delaminate
- Valves, the delaminating cams damaged some of them
- Piston (scorched)
- Cylinder wall (scorched)
- Wrist pin (scorched)...
