I'm in Atlanta, but the real good roads are up north in Suches and near the Blue Ridge Parkway. I've also heard there are a few good rides around Monticello, but I haven't been myself.

I'm guessing Chad (cjwell) will have some insights into this, as his race kit includes new cams but I'm not sure what their specs are. Best of luck and I look forward to hearing the outcome of this project.

I believe this is normal.

It's going to be hard to get a smaller pipe without being too loud, although I think there's an akra system thats fairly short but sounds really good. Werkes is about as short as they get but the sound could be helped with the repack. There are some threads about that here.

If you're thinking about switching coolant, it is probably best to just flush the system with distilled water a few times and replace with Engine Ice.

New rear shock would be likely needed. I'm 5'10" and pushing 96kg, the rear Ohlins made a world of difference, plus racetech fronts. Stock shock isn't great for heavier guys.

I think some guys who track their bikes do the thermo delete. Not sure what their experience has been exactly, but it's definitely been done.

I think a few guys have had over 12k km on theirs without any issues. Mine is at 8k with no issues yet, but it does sit in the back of my mind as to when my had gasket will go. Supporting mods such as SPAL fan, full samco hose kit, engine ice, header wrap, and pcv have been done to hopefully...

I'm really happy with my TST one, fully adjustable and low profile. License plate light is very bright too and installation was extremely simple.

How does the oil look in the engine from oil sight glass? Could be blown head gasket..?

I think its a cool design and something very different than what most of us are used to seeing with our bikes. Much props to you for taking on the challenge oneup. I'm excited to see the finished bike.

I think someone did a gsxr600 front end swap on an RC and it did not end up working well for handling. I'm not sure where the post is but someone else might have know where it is. There is a brief mention of it in this thread. http://www.rc390-forum.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-535.html

There is a KTM powerparts comfort seat that a lot of people seem to be fond of. Handlebars could probably be put on risers, though I don't think I've seen an RCs with that done. But probably not impossible. I use mine as a commuter and it works out great.
