I've signed up for a RideSmart track day Sunday March 5 at Cresson and would love to have some company!!!!
It will be my first official track day on the KTM and I'm excited.
It's a little prep for the xmas present my wife bought me.
She bought me a California Superbike school package for...
Personally I think you will have a hard time finding anyone willing to give $5k for it.
The market is just so incredibly small for this type of bike and then the KTM on top of it.
Most people who track bikes can get amazing deals on track only bikes where titles, registration, being street...
I finally got a dealer to respond to me after trying 6 different ones.
They told me that it would cost $440 for the first service which included the valve adjustment (and also an oil change).
What bothered me though is the service manager kept insisting that I did not need to bring my bike in...
So I am approaching 600 miles on my RC390 and I know that the valves need to be checked along with the initial service.
Normally I do all the easy regular service items on my bikes (torquing bolts, changing oil, adjust/clean/lube chain).
I've never done a valve check and after reading threads...
Wow talk about timing.
I started hearing a rattle/vibration sound come from the lower front fairing area just this morning. I need to go out at lunch and look around for missing bolts, LOL.
In regards to the clutch.
Does your clutch disengage with just the slightest of lever movement? It seems like the clutch is awfully quick to disengage from the lever movement, especially compared to the other bikes I have owned/still own.
My clutch disengages withing maybe 1-2 cm of pulling in...
Jeeeezeee almighty, I am seeing just way too many threads, posts, and articles everywhere about the absolute sh!t build quality and volume of problems with this bike!!!!
I had planned on tracking it after break in but I have ZERO confidence in it now.
I think its time to dump this POS before...
I'd only ever do it at 15mph or less in just about completely stopped traffic.
For me any faster is too high a risk of injury as there are way too many cager @ssholes out there.
Clutch slipping possibly?
Mine is new and I have ~300 miles on it. I've taken it to the rev limiter at least a few times.
Its always good to rev out a new engine to get the seals and rings to expand and seat properly.
I'm not saying go around and redline it all the time but you should wring...
I read the owners manual, saw no mention of mineral oil.
Heck I've never even heard of putting mineral oil in an engine.
I'm still running factory fill but I am only at 250 miles. When I am done with break in I will go immediately to a full synthetic oil.
Maybe Castrol Power Racing RS 4T...
Is the stock coolant really that bad?
Will I get a significant benefit from something like Engine Ice?
I never really got too much into coolant performance, I've always just bought Prestone Antifreeze and put it in.
