Any suggestions on an easy way to disconnect the front running lights?

do you mean the LED light?
The connector is behind a plack panel #14 located exactly between the 2 main light.
You need to remove the 4 screws #13 located at each corner of this black plate.
note : I removed completely this LED light in order to use the racing fwindhield that does not have the hole for the headlamps.
So I'm lightning the road throw the windshield.
