Oil filter cap bolts are pansies

Quick look at removable screen full of debris. Doing a great job looks like.

Even at torque spec per manual filter cap bolt commits suicide.

Replaced with cap screws n washers to solve that problem.

Also noticed a ton of extra gasket under the bike but no leaks. Not used to two drain bolts that are that low torqued either. Basically finger tight when I took them off.

M5.08 16mm are the cap screws in case anybody hits the same snag.

Bummer, a friend of mine had the same problem. My filters looked the same on the first oil change at 215 miles, at 620 the were clean as a whistle...

Yeah, I experienced the same with the screws. Don't use the torque spec. Not only might/will you break the screws, but I don't trust the stress on the mounting holes either.

BTW, there's a similar thread HERE, so I may close or merge the threads. Just admin stuff. Thanks for the post.
