Airbox missing part?

What is missing on my airbox? I have the service manual and can't find any diagrams in there. The airbox is cracked also, but there is a recall so I can get another one for free.

It looks like some kind of drain...I assume for the crankcase ventilation? Can I just put a piece of tape or a hose to plug it?
