the facts: 2017 rc390 with 2700 miles on it. First service and valves done at the dealer at 600 miles. Motul 15-50 full synthetic. The bike is used for local mountains, Kart tracks and Horse theif mile here in southern california.

I did an oil change today and the oil looked fine but the mesh filter had a wad of fibrous material all collected around it (see photo) i have never seen such a thing and wanted to bounce it off the forum. ( please note I will probably bounce a similar post over at ADV for a broader audience).

I main filter looked fine when I cut it open. I am thinking some paper filter waste that is slowly wearing away? Left over build crap that did not let loose in the first 600 miles?

Any ideas would be appreciated.
TIA

I've no idea but I'd be crapping myself if I found that when doing an oil change!! Maybe it's why we have two screens and a filter...
