Throttle cable replacement

Do the fairings and the gas tank have to come off to replace throttle cable?

I think I know the answer but just checking.

Unless you have fingers of a 2 year old girl, it certainly helps.

Yeah.. Im pretty sure it would take a lot longer to try and "fish" the cables through there than it would to just take the two side fairings off. You might be able to get away with just removing the right side fairing and not removing the gas tank. I honestly cant remember since its been so long since I swapped to the Motion Pro throttle and I think I already had the bike torn down to the frame, anyway.

OK thanks guys.
I did something stupid when replacing the throttle tube and frayed the cable, so waiting on replacement to arrive.

Damn its hard getting basic parts for these bikes. Forget about expecting next day air service. I had to cancel my track event this weekend.

I'm sorry to hear that. Where did you obtain the new part?

I actually ordered two, not expensive and thought I would get a spare.

One from AOMC but they take several days to ship even after they have in stock (I don't understand this and neither did their guy on the phone)
Other one i got from WheelSports, they also take their time shipping even after part shows (received).

So now I'm shooting for trackday in two weeks.
