Yeah I was surpised/pleased to see the little Duke get honored. "Best" categories get muddier by the year. It's pretty much: "These are our ten favorite bikes of the year, now let's make up the categories."

It's also frightening how non-in-depth any motorcycle review are ever... 90% of the reviews are just citing the specs on paper

That's because real writing is difficult. I use to do marketing for a band. I took some courses on it and one of the things I was taught is that editors don't have time to do anything and that frequently what you send them will be used verbatim. I thought that was poppy cock, until it happened. And then happened again. At which point I started writing ever more glowing text--which even still was used verbatim. lolz
