Steering Head

A bit of a clunk developed in the steering head so I decided time to check the bearings. Guess who was not even finger tight, and it even had loctite on it. Just a warning--check and make sure it's torqued and has loctite. Spec is 52Nm or 38.4 ft/lb.

Check the actual steering head bearings not just the top bolt! Mine was to spec but the bearings themselves were very loose. 420 miles. $695.00 dealer prep.

They were fine, just a bit loose. "I adjusted them and torqued the triple clamp
