Installed a Rapid Bike Easy today to fix the closed loop AFR. Took 5 minutes to install, AFR went from around 14.5 to between 12.5 - 13+'ish. I have a powertronic to tune open loop. You simply turn a dial on the module from -3 to +3 to lean/richen the mixture.
Just wanted to throw this out...
I was thinking of picking up a second RC as a dedicated track bike and got to wondering if there's anything about the duke that would make it less capable as a track bike. I think it'd be a fun winter project to do a supersport conversion on a duke, but would like to hear what you all think of...
Looking for advice on how to simplify the process of removing fairings and fuel tank.
Are aftermarket/race fairings faster to take off?
Can quarter turn fasteners be adapted to this bike?
Is there a fuel cap that comes off easier than the stock one with like 10 allen bolts on it?
Any way to...
Random bits of info (or how not to make the same mistakes I did)
This is just random bits of info I learned when I did this stuff:
New radiator
PowerTRONIC ECU
JRi shock
Emissions removal
Some other miscellaneous crap
The airbox cover has two tabs towards the back that slip into slots on...
Removed the EVAP stuff today and decided to play around with replacing the airbox with a pod filter. I'm guessing this bike isn't the best fit for that setup, but would like to try it.
Here's what I did:
EVAP canister plumbing removed
Left the EVAP solenoid electrical connector plugged in...
Installed a powertronic ECU and am having a hard time fitting it under the passenger seat.
What's the consensus on removing the snorkel? That would free up some room. Even cutting a few inches off might work.
Also considering a fiberglass or carbon fiber passenger seat replacement. I assume...
Going crazy trying to disconnect this. I see a little tab on the back. Do you just press down on it and pull?
EDIT: Sorry, not the TPS. I'm trying to disconnect the injector connector.
I haven't been able to find a piggyback ECU that addresses tuning closed loop. I see there are a couple mid-pipes with (presumably) no cat for the 2017.
How are people using these without being able to adjust the AFR?
Also, if anybody knows of any other workarounds for the closed loop lean...
