57, chasing gbabyracing. Still have bigger bikes, but my last sportbike was a Daytona 675. Came to the RC pretty quickly...not as quickly as fasteddy, but... Riding since 14. This is my first street single. Beta testing with the rest of ya!

50 - Been riding bikes for around 35 years now - Started with Yamaha DT 125 - Yamaha RD 350 air cooled - XR 500 - Yamaha RD 350 LC - Suzuki GSXR 400 - KDX 200 - KX 250 - Yamaha YZFR 15 - RC 390 - The RC is about as much fun as riding my old XR 500 - But the good thing is at least the front wheel of the RC stays on the ground :)

Too old to remember how old I am. (55). Raced from 1977 to 2002. Long break to re-establish after family split up. Started racing again in 2013 and still going. Bikes: Ducati 750SS (76), Honda CB750, CB 550, CR250, CR500 (1986 - 1998). XR600, XR650, CBR 600, Suzuki Katana 1100, PE 250. Have raced road race, dirt track and enduro. Still own the XR650 and CR500. Off to road race them this weekend, while we wait to prep the KTM properly. KTM RC390, in my humble opinion not yet ready to race.

XR650 Air cooled or water cooled? Not sure how they marketed the XR650R and XR650L in Australia.

In the US XR650R is the 2000-2007 water cooled monster and the XR650L is the 1993-current air cooled street legal version of the XR600.

Anyway glad to see you kept the big bore XR! I have an XR650R in my collection and it is one of those bikes I will never part with.

44 years old. The 390 joins 12 other motorcycles already in the garage. Everything from 2 stroke twin 250 to single 450, inline 4 400's, twin 1000's and a few v4's for good measure. This little 390 is in good company. I have to agree with others that the older I get the smaller my bikes seem to get and the more safety gear I wear. Been racing for 8 or 9 years.

28 years old...currently own the RC390 and a 2014 Yamaha Bolt R-spec

Started off with a 06' Ninja 250, went to a 95' FZR600 (400 orginial miles), and then went to the bolt/RC

I love have a "bobber" style bike to relax and go on the interstate and such, and the RC for a sporty ride. It's nice to go between the two styles.

I'm a couple of months shy of that silver anniversary.

I've owned and ridden mostly smallish bikes: started on a moped at 16, then to an X7, possibly one of my favourite bikes (other markets it's called RG250), CB500, Ninja 250, Aprilia RS50, RSV1000R...and now the 390.

44ish, going on 24. Grew up riding bastard bikes in AK. My first "bike" was a honda atc 90. My buddy's father had an FZR 400 when we were in highschool. That bike planted the small bike seed that has been growing inside me for years. Been 15yrs since I've had a streetbike in the garage. (2K Yamaha R6)

61. Street bike is a BMW F800 R. Race bikes: KTM RC390, Honda CBR250 (endurance team ride), Honda RS250 (X4). Vintage bikes (various)

44. The RC390 is the fun "Woo hoo!!!" bike option, and the BMW F800ST stays around for long rides and bike camping. I also have a raceprepped 1989 Honda VTR 250 that I'll be selling, now that I have the RC (since it can do street and track, and I don't really race).

When I saw this thread in the list I imagined most would be very young and I'd be just about the oldest.
Glad to see that isn't the case at all. To me the KTM RC 390 is a sensible vehicle period. Full coverage insurance with 2,000,000 liability is a little more than half what the same costs for my 2002 Ford Ranger Edge and it can probably go 2-3 times farther than the truck on what-ever amount of gas. The time will come when we'll see oil/gas hit record highs and much higher interest rates too. I certainly wouldn't mind a Ducati Panigale 1299 or KTM 1290 Super Duke R...or a new Porsche,..but really my new KTM makes more sense, it's paid for and should have me riding around at sane speeds...and it looks just as good as any of them.

I kinda always figured there would be more of us greybeard oldfags for the initial round of owners. We're more likely to have plunked down deposits, bike unseen, and likely be the second, or in my case eighth bike in the stable...

The kids will come along later.

Tho it does give me a big smile to see at 42 it's looking like I'm still under the median age / one of the kids... LOL

Most "kids" think a 390 is too small. I see threads on other non bike related forums where guys ask will a 750 be enough for a 200+ lb guy... I usually laugh and then show them a video of me blowing past people in corners on my 250.

28 year old here, currently have, 09 1198S, 07 Triumph D675, 04 SV650, 08 ninja 250, and the RC, everything but the Ducati are race bikes and I'm probably going to sell it soon. No street riding for me its all track and racing.

I was up at Newcomb's Ranch outside of LA on Sunday with the 390. For most of you who aren't from around here, it's one of those spots where 100+ motorcycles will be hanging out on a weekend.

The bike got a ton of attention, almost exclusively from old guys. All the young squids see it as a child's toy.
