Transmission woes unraveled

I was experiencing my bike popping out of 6th gear 4-5 times a trackday and thought I’d try and fix it.
Did the factory pro detent and spring kit...better shifts but still popping out[emoji2959]
I thought all was lost[emoji24]
Thank goodness before I dove into the engine I tried one last thing...
When I put my old boots back on the problem improved.
As it turns out, every time I would tuck with my new boots, they would have a very subtle interference with the base of the shift lever. The factory rearset design is actually kind of poor because the shifter runs next to your boot all the way to the end of the lever[emoji2959]. So if you are the least bit pigeon toed, you are out of luck.
I solved my problem by changing to gp shift so when I’m in 6th, my boot won’t cause a partial downshift if it rubs a bit and, if it ever happens under any other circumstances (hasn’t yet), I’ll get an upshift which is safer than unexpected downshift [emoji106]
