MCRA ULGT Race (Wet) - Putnam Park Road Course - 07/03/2016

Here is my onboard video from the MCRA Racing Ultralight GT race in the rain at Putnam Park Road Course on Sunday!

This was my first time ever riding on rain tires, at all, let alone racing on them. Our race was moved up to midday, so we only got one 30 min practice session before it was time to do the race. I gathered up as much confidence as I could and tried to hold a good, steady pace while trying to be as smooth as possible. I ended up fighting with Alex again for the whole race and it came down to a photo finish at the line for the win.

Around 6:15, I wondered out on to the wet curbing on accident. When I even started to think about getting on the throttle, ever so gently, the rear spun up and kicked out sideways, nearly spitting me off of the bike in the process. I was up and out of the seat by a good bit. Luckily, I landed back in the seat and continued on without even losing the lead! Here is a shortcut to that moment:
